We hope you’ve had an amazing Alien Day this year, as you dive back into Ridley Scott’s legendary sci-fi horror franchise, whether that’s by watching the movies or booting up your favorite Alien games. To mark the occasion, developer Survios lifts the lid on Alien Rogue Incursion, a brand-new PSVR 2 game that will bring the Xenomorphs to your living room.

Many of the best PSVR 2 games push the boundaries of the hardware, truly immersing you in worlds plucked straight out of imagination. If you fancy spending your time fleeing from acid-spitting interstellar beasties, then Alien Rogue Incursion is a new PS5 game you’ll want to keep on your radar. Set to release later this year, Survios’ take on the franchise carves a fresh corner of Alien lore you’ve never seen before.

According to the developer, its forthcoming PSVR 2 horror game will feature an “an original story that fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe.” The studio adds that Alien Rogue Incursion is “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, and will showcase the PSVR 2’s “technically advanced” hardware. Survios have worked on plenty of movie tie-in games in the past, notably with 2021’s Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions.

While it might not be one of the best fighting games out there, it’s a delightfully fun arcade-like fighter that channels the more heightened action found in Rocky 3 and Rocky 4. This marked the studios’ first venture away from VR focused releases, after releasing titles like The Walking Dead Onslaught and Creed Rise To Glory.

We’re curious to see just where Alien Rogue Incursion’s story takes us. We’ve seen previous Alien games like the excellent Alien Isolation add fresh perspectives to existing stories, while releases like the divisive co-op game Aliens Fireteam Elite forge their own paths. Either way, we reckon there will be some familiar faces along the way. That’s when you’re not hiding from Xenomorphs behind your sofa, of course.
