Remnant 2’s epic new DLC will only set you back $10

Remnant 2 will soon launch its new DLC, The Forgotten Kingdom, on PS5 and Xbox, and it’ll barely break the bank to get stuck into it.

Remnant 2 surprised us last year with its potent and punchy blend of third-person shooter antics and Souls like action. Gunfire Games will keep that going with its next Remnant 2 DLC, The Forgotten Kingdom, and you don’t have to wait too long to play it. And here’s the best part: whether you’re playing on PS5 or Xbox, the next chapter of Remnant 2’s story will only cost you $9.99/£7.99.

Just like Remnant 2’s The Awakened King DLC before it, Gunfire Games is packing a hefty content drop for one of the best Souls like games around, without breaking the bank. This time, the action shifts away from the Bloodborne-style coastal town of Losomn, and into the harsh jungles of a new, mysterious biome in Yaesha. According to the developer, PS5 and Xbox players can expect to “unravel the mystery of Yaesha’s lost tribe and a vengeful stone spirit called Lydusa, and her living stone constructs.” You know, classic fantasy RPG game-type stuff.

With any adventure into Remnant 2’s brutal worlds, you’ll need some fresh additions to the roster of the best Remnant 2 weapons. The studio confirms that players can brandish “new weapons and modifications”, accompanied by a range of powerful rings and amulets to incorporate into their builds. Remnant 2’s strongest aspect is its versatility across all the Remnant 2 classes, allowing players to mix and match their favorite Archetypes together. The Forgotten Kingdom introduces The Invoker, another new Archetype that can harness the “mystic power of the jungle.”

Does that mean we’ll become Remnant 2’s version of Batman villain Poison Ivy? We certainly wouldn’t say no to wreaking havoc with the jungle itself. We’re yet to see what massive haunts are waiting in this area of Yaesha, but as we know, Remnant 2 doesn’t hold back on its boss fights. Just… please don’t make us fight Annihilation again… please.

Rest assured, The Forgotten Kingdom will likely pack some serious battles into every nook and cranny of its swampy locales. At least Remnant 2 crossplay is functional now, so we can call upon our friends on other platforms to lend a helping hand.

The Forgotten Kingdom arrives on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Gunfire Games clarifies that “you can purchase the DLC Bundle for $24.99 on April 23 to get The Awakened King DLC, The Forgotten Kingdom DLC, and have access to the final DLC” which arrives later this year. However, players who already have the Remnant 2 Ultimate Edition can download each DLC at no additional charge.
