Major Stellar Blade collab confirmed by Shift Up for the end of 2024

The Stellar Blade roadmap for 2024 has big things in store for the PS5 hit, as launch windows for its photo mode and next suite of skins have been revealed.

It’s been an exciting year so far for Shift Up. Not only has its maiden voyage into the triple-A space, Stellar Blade, struck a major chord with PS5 players everywhere, but the studio has already promised to expand on Eve’s adventure going forward. Now, the studio has begun concreting its plans for the games leading up to the end of the year.

Having already launched Stellar Blade’s boss rush mode last month, Shift Up has already crossed off one of my biggest wishlist items for the hit RPG game. Considering how gorgeous parts of Stellar Blade are, I was surprised to see it ship without a dedicated photo mode – something the team, speaking at a recent IPO press conference (via KH Games), is planning to rectify this August.

Of course, that barely takes us to the end of the summer, and Shift Up has plenty more in store. Between CFO Ahn Jae-woo and CEO Kim Hyung-tae, the pair further confirmed that new skins will arrive in October, while a major IP collaboration will arrive by the end of the year. This leaked roadmap from X user ‘Sobrio86’ best illustrates the devs’ plans.

One important thing to note here is the panel regarding potential DLC and the possibility of a sequel – I’ve already made my wishlist for Stellar Blade 2 that you should check out. As KH Games reports (translated to English from Korean via Google News), Kim notes that, while Stellar Blade was designed to be a “complete experience,” the studio is continually assessing its opportunities.

As a result of this, Kim says “there is a possibility of developing paid DLC for elements such as external collaboration.” Though it’s nothing we haven’t heard before, it’s still worth flagging that it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be getting full-blown expansions to the base game. Nonetheless, I’m excited to see Shift Up’s plans to finish 2024 with a bang for its breakout success
