XDefiant leaks tease an Assassin’s Creed class we need right now

There’s one class missing from XDefiant that it really needs, and Ubisoft will reportedly fix that with an awesome Assassin’s Creed faction.

Between Echelon spies and Watch Dogs hackers, XDefiant’s classes are the highpoint of Ubisoft’s multi-franchise shooter. However, as cool as they are, we definitely reckon there’s space for Ubisoft’s crown jewel to join the battle: Assassin’s Creed. If you’re looking to enter the Brotherhood of Assassins on the battlefield, then these new leaks for the PS5 and Xbox shooter aren’t to be overlooked.

We know, Ubisoft’s brand-new FPS game is still very young, and it is only natural that some features are missing. But when it comes to all those XDefiant classes, you can’t blame us for feeling impatient with the prospect of an Assassin’s Creed crossover on the cards. According to XDefiant leaker ‘AgainTx’, Ubisoft is reportedly looking to incorporate its beloved open world game franchise into the shooter, as they claim that “the Assassin’s Creed faction will include a dagger and a smoke bomb.”

Furthermore, the leaker depicts a series of XDefiant faction images for this rumored class. Two of these emblems support the addition of smoke bombs and a dagger ability in the game, and a currently undetermined ultra ability. With stealth playing a crucial role in the series, even in its current RPG game form, it is likely that this class could function similarly to the Echelon class – albeit with fewer bullets. Despite all of these iconic franchises in XDefiant, there aren’t any skins that let you play as notable characters like Sam Fisher, but maybe this could change with the potential debut of the Assassin’s Creed crossover.

We certainly hope so, or at the very least, give me some Ezio-inspired drip from the get-go. Additionally, the leaker suggests that Ubisoft’s racing game franchise The Crew will also get its time to shine in the form of a new XDefiant map. In a snippet of datamined gameplay, the leaker appears to show what is currently called ‘Daytona’, a raceway map that could be pretty tasty. If it has constantly moving elements like vehicles, it may just top Crown Raceway from rival shooters Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3.

One piece of future content we do officially know we’re getting is a Call of Duty-style mode inspired by Search and Destroy. And if you’re tired of missing your enemies during a heated gunfight, don’t worry, because a fix for hit registration is in the works.
